Thank you very much for the report. I have known ISKCON myself since 1984 and am shocked by the many child abuses and the silence (denying it) of various swamis and the GBC.
Even today, in 2022, the subject of child abuse, e.g. in Mayapur, has become public again. By people who were/are known to the GBC and no responsibility was taken on the part of the GBC. Also, the GBC itself consists almost exclusively of men.
I am deeply depressed in my heart. It's exactly the same with child abuse in the Catholic Church. There, too, bishops cover up the truth.
Still, I think it's time not only to uncover the cases, to look and be mindful, BUT to ask the general question of what celibacy does to people (men)!!!! This has nothing to do with Krishna, nor with any belief, but with human suppression of love and closeness! Everyone needs security, attention and closer trust to another person!!! This is something to think about - also within ISKCON!!! I don't think sexual abuse will ever stop otherwise! And we humans are guests on this earth and committed to the peaceful and harmonious formation of this planet!!!
highlight celibacy in people then bracketing "men" isnt people, your singling out men, i can easily show you that there are just as many women who sexually abuse children as men, i was sexually abused by a women for 11 years, so dont put men in brackets and act like men are the only problem
