Pedophilia is also rampant in public schools and authoritarian irreligious (communist) nations, and people are more willing to give these institutions power when they are less religious; the state becomes the new religion. Child sexual abuse is wrong BECAUSE objective morality (God) is real and children are not cosmic accidents.

"If you shut down our group for child abuse, your group could be shut down, too!" Lol, okay. Do it. There is so much whataboutism in this documentary, it's insane. Any Christian church that denies children are a gift from God, that denies what you do to a child's body you also do to Christ Himself, or that intentionally breaks up families is not Christian. The Hare Krishnas shame people for reproducing WITHIN WEDLOCK (where children are least likely to be abused, which is why Christians have this rule), Hare Krishnas devalue what happens to the body as irrelevant (even in the words of the people interviewed here) and Hare Krishnas teach families that their attachment to one another is WRONG and a DETRIMENT. This is a culture that makes separation of children from their parents MANDATORY. Sleep deprivation, hours upon hours of meditation. OF COURSE sexual abuse is taking place! No one is there for their kids! There was a time when all cultures the world over saw children and their abuse as mainly irrelevant. The "imago dei" doctrine of Christianity is what changed that. Sexual abuse happens everywhere? Very true. No one should think it can't happen in their group? Correct. But that doesn't change the fact that the Hare Krishnas are a paradise for pedophiles almost by design. I enthusiastically invite every religion to be harshly judged by this standard -- what kind of environment they are creating for children to grow up in -- regardless of whether it hurts people claiming to be on my side. There is only one religion that teaches the kingdom of heaven belongs to little children, and it's Christianity.
