The Hare Krishna Traveling Temple was formed in Australia in 1985 to collect one million signatures to present to the president of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev demanding that the Hare Krishna devotees who had been imprisoned in Russia for practicing the religion of their choice be set free. The Traveling Temple is a greyhound bus converted into a temple.
