Hari Nama Sankirtan is the congregational chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra. Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu who started this Sankirtan movement 500 years ago stressed that the only way for spiritual advancement in this difficult age of Kali-yuga is the chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra. So Hare Krishna devotees like to go out into the streets and other public places to chant the holy names of the Lord so the people who hear the chanting will be benefited.
