Krishna Consciousness at Home

Krishna consciousness does not have to be practiced in a temple. We can become Krishna conscious in any situation in life. Often when Lord Caitanya was traveling around India and preaching 500 years ago people would meet him, become impressed by His character and teachings, and wanted to leave home and join His movement and travel with Him. But almost always Lord Caitanya instructed these people to stay where they were, in their homes, and practice Krishna consciousness there. Lord Caitanya instructed them that whomever they meet they should talk to them about Krishna. In this way they became the guru of the village or place they were staying. And this is how Lord Caitanya quickly spread Krishna consciousness all over India.
