The mrdanga is a traditional Indian clay drum that is used as an accompaniment for kirtans and bhajans. It is two headed drum and is very important in Hare Krishna kirtans. There are very specific beats that need to be played on the mrdanga and they are called 'bols'. The videos in this section will allow you to lean the classic style of Bengali mrdanga playing.
