Vicky Overton, originally from New Zealand, became a very famous model in Europe. She discovered the Hare Krishna movement and became a devotee. Vicky says: "By starting to chant Hare Krishna, I feel tremendous happiness."

Gowrishanker V 3 years agoNo one is attracted to the Iskon without massive punyam acquired in many births past. No other religious persuasion teaches one to sing and dance merrily to the feet of the ultimate Godhead. Christianity, Islam and Buddhism teach the followers to fast, observe severe austerities and self flaggelation. Yes, Iskon too prescribes self restraint and forbids illicit sex, intoxication, gambling and meat. But the main pillar of Krishna consciousness is the chanting the glorious name of Krishna, singing HIS praise and serving Krishna devotees. One is constantly connected to Krishna. This path is peerless.

MSID PS 4 years agoHare krishna is a deep science...n simple and easy...flexible and liberal...shows ways to attain self realisation through yoga and meditation and chanting mantras..singing..dancing...it's a green n sustainable style of living..vegetarian....thus respects the rights of people and animals and nature...where peace...non violence..in terms of words...thought...actions....Hare Krishna

KKHH RRHH 4 years agoAwesome, how well they articulated Krsna Conciousness, and how firmly they are devoted to Krsna, knowing well the difference between the material and spiritual, recognising the temporary, flickering nature of material body, and realising the soul is external, and that they are actually the soul, not the body, therefore they are eternal, and Krsna Conciousness will take them to the spiritual realm, out of this material realm of repeated birth, old age, disease and death

- Rayrwyr 3 years ago@kaamdev810 -- It is mostly rooted in Vedas. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu popularized Hare krishna mantra, and lot of chanting, also ecstatic dancing. Chaitanya vaisnava order calls Krishna (not Vishnu, Narayana, Shiva, Durga, Ganesh, Ram, Hanuman) as the only real 100% Supreme God. I don't understand how because Krishna is supposed to be a Vishnu avatar. Also, Chaitanya is considered an avatar of Krishna.
  
  They also glorify Radha as a super important character (as Krishna's energy) which is a relatively introduced characters. Vedas/Upanishads/Gita/Purans do not have Radha.
  
  ISKCON does not care about worshipping anyone else except Krishna, Radha, Chaitanya, Chaitanya's disciple Nityananda, Jagannath (deity of Puri temple).

Deciphering English 5 years agoMostly it's a very nice video except the marriage part where Vishnupada is joking on the serious matter of roles of husband and wife after marriage.
- Sridhar Kaushik 5 years agoIt is no joke. Vedic life is no joke. Sex in marriage as per Vedic teaching should not be casual but only for procreation. You can see references to this throughout our sacred texts. That is not to say every common man followed that dictum but those who were serious about spirituality did.
