Excellent idea to question every person or so called guru who gets up on stage and spouts dubious opinions or narratives. This guy was around maybe in the 1960s, 1970s, but there's no shortage of charlatans running a guru scam now in 2021.
He influenced many people around the world in a positive way by arousing their interest in spirituality through devotion to Krishna... but at the same time his views were too sectarian... which is contrary to the spirit of Sanatan Dharma which is the true religion of every human being and consequently his devotees became Krishna fanatics... they just refer to other hindu deities as demigods...which is an absolute disgrace...due to their ignorance they are simply not aware how they are..indeed like Krishna himself said in the Gita some people still worship him although in the wrong and they will take much longer before eventually reaching him..
The way in which Prabhupad talks about Krishna and Bhagavad Gita made himself prone to criticisms from his own people... from hindu haters and other religions like it happened on that particular occasion...
The essence of Hinduism is Lord Vishnu, in different manifestations as Rama & Krishna during different times, only to uphold Truth, Love, Peace & Service to all. Itโs to ameliorate & assimilate peopleโs lives Qualitatively. ๐ธ๐๐๐๐ธ and lead him to Eternity.
The essence of Vaishnavism is Vishnu...the essence of Hinduism is Dharma...Hinduism is not only about Vishnu but also inclusive of many other deities such as Shiva, Devi, Ganesha, Brahma, Hanuman among others...

@lloydmckay3241 no...this is completely wrong... typical interpretation of Gaudiya Vaishnav and Iskcon... Sri Krishna was a himan incarnation of lord Vishnu...just like Sri Rama..
And why is Jesus birth almost same as Krishna's?
