Believe or be eternally Damned.
On the contrary, Hinduism not only allows but promotes self-enquiry. WHO AM I? WHAT IS MY PURPOSE? WHY GOD PUT ME HERE? etc. It also accepts differences between different beliefs. "Though Truth is eternal, universal and immutable, it is perceived differently by the wise" says Rig Veda. 'Jitne Maat, Utne Path' famous saying of RamaKrishna Paramhansa meaning all paths lead to same goal.
Seeking as opposed to Believing is the essence of Hinduism and divided as four fold worthy human pursuits of life. Dharma (following one's duty with Righteousness), Artha (Earning money Righteously), Kama (regulating desire within the confines of Dharma/Artha) and finally Moksha (attaining liberation ie. freedom from all attachments/desires/bondage).
