Unfortunately, present moment, Iskcon is becoming apasampradaya. They do not understand jiva tattva. They do not understand Guru tattva. They want to legislate guru. It is like chasing sky flowers. The relationship of disciple and Guru is between the two of them. Naturally, a sane Vaishnava is reluctant to take that post. Guru is appointed by and is a function of Krishna. When misunderstanding arises Srila Prabhpada recommended, referring to the previous acharyas and to current well respected Vaishnavas. Srila Prabhupada recommended Srila Bhakti Rakshaka Sridhara Maharaja as the best person to go to after his departure for philosophical understanding.
