@samjames3363 You talked very bad about vishnu ji. Read it and you will understand what the history was. And i will not fall down to your evil level bcos i have answers to all your defaming questions. But i know u still will not understand because obviously u have no intentions to.

Just to share the story and how the law of karma caught up with Jalandar.

Jalandar was born from Shiva’s third eye due to ego and mistake of Indra. Jalandar became king of Asuras. He defeated devas and made them flee from heaven. Indra paid price of his arrogance.

Jalandar heard about the beauty of Goddess Parvati (Parvati would be his mother) and wanted to marry her. He asked Lord Shiva to hand over Parvati to him. He attacked Lord Shiva and there was a fight.

It became impossible for Shiva to kill Jalandar because of his power and his wife, Vrinda.

Vrinda was highly devoted to Lord Vishnu and because of her chastity and prayers to Lord Vishnu, Jalandar had become invincible.

Jalandar being a part of Shiva, in disguise of Shiva went to meet Parvati. But Parvati recognised him and he had to run away looking at the fury of Parvati who was about to become Kali.

To protect the world and dharma from evil asuras, it became necessary to kill Jalandar.

To kill evil Jalandar, it was necessary to break the chastity and piousness of Vrinda. Jalandar’s karma came back to him. Lord Vishnu created an illusion where Jalandar was killed by Shiva and then restored to life.

Vrinda could not identify that Lord Vishnu was in disguise of Jalandar and hugged him. She touched Lord Vishnu and this broke her chastity. She realised that she was cheated and cursed Vishnu that he would turn into a stone and would be separated from his wife. This actually happened when Vishnu took Ram avatar.

Lord Vishnu in turn blessed Vrinda and she turned into tulsi. Even today, once in a year, on the day of prabhodini Ekadasi, Tulsi is married to Vishnu (in shaligram/stone avatar). Tulsi is used to worship Lord Vishnu and that is how she became immortal.

Tulsi is treated as a goddess and also worshiped everyday in hindu household.

Lord Vishnu is worshiped in the form of black stone, shaligram.

On the battlefield, Shiva killed Jalandar and his soul went back into Shiva 3rd eye from which he was born. This is how Jalandar was liberated from his evil life.

@samjames3363 Our scriptures have discussed geography at length. All puranas have geographical details of earth even Mahabharata has very detailed info. - Jambudwipa, pllakshadwipa, kraunchadwipa, swetadwipa etc seven continents, seven mountains and then seven oceans etc are mentioned. Kraunchadwipa is today's America. Our kings had their empire extending over other countries too. The ancient country/dwipa names may/may not tally with the names that we use today.

Well there are mentions of foreign countries and kingdoms in Mahabharata, which are mappable to current times. For instance - MBH mentions about Greece i.e., yavana country whose king was kalayavana. Then it also mentions about china whose name during those times was ‘chIna’ (almost same), Mlechcha kingdoms which were either central asia or western countries.

Rama’s brother Bharata’s kingdom was Gandhara (current afganistan) where his sons viz. “taksha” and “pushkala” whose kingdom’s were takshashila and pushkalavati. Same gandhara was there in Mahabharata whose king was subala (Ganadhari’s father).

The various continents, their inhabitants, the trees, the nature, the animals that existed in those islands etc., are in detail described by Sanjaya to Dhritarashtra in Mahabharata’s Bhishma parva on Dhritarashtra’s request.

Also about the geographies of the countries including Sri lanka whose king was Visbhishana (during MBH also he was there), who surrendered to Yudhishthira’s Rajasuya yajna willingly to sahadeva. Such Rajasuya expedition also describes various geographies within India and also nearby countries.

Santi patrva mentions about Sveta-dwipa was at the northern hemisphere where the ocean was called ocean of milk (may be due to white color). That is probably the arctic ocean and antartica island.

Our scriptures goal is not just moksha alone but "Jaya" and the traditional definition of Jaya is accomplishments of all the four purusharthas (moksha being the ultimate). This is why all puranas and Mahabharata have a common name "Jaya". Geography is related to our internal geography also as brahmanda and pindanda are reflections of each other. India being yajnabhumi its description of tIrtha-s is more stressed as they directly relate with our internal yogic places and hearing or reading those texts gives merit of yogic travel.

Lot of science is there in geography when it comes through the pen of rishis!

And if you still want to proof that Christianity is better than others than i think Christianity deserves better person than you. May god bless you.

@samjames3363 Oldest religion is generalized version, i said we r the oldest civilization bro. Read about the "itihasaa" Of india and how the concept of religion was not there in india. Bhagwad geeta is also not a religious book. Christianity as a religion have oldest record till 600 BC but dont forget when Europeans were still at stone age, here in indian subcontinent there were many civilizations and beliefs. But still don't talk about any religion is better than other, it show's foolishness in some extent. We believe krishn and you believe Christian. I don't know why people create differences. One tip for you brother: find similarities and you can see this beautiful world as your family.

@samjames3363 Brother please read bhagwat geeta. These are the teachings which god (here krishna) is trying to share with us. Have u ever heard something like "If something happens it's the God's plan". And plz i don't want to just force our thoughts on you. But we are the oldest civilization and we all are connected. Sanatan dharma is the way of life and we believe in "vasudhaiva kutumbakam" meaning whole world is our family. Please see our beautiful thoughts and our perspective of life. Take care brother.
