@samjames3363 From where you have read this things ? If from internet then pls don't believe. There are many wrong translations out there.
Also , if you study even an inch of Sanskrit (Samskrutam) then you will get to know that each word in it has many meanings . In this language meanings of word depend on there usage . Many scholars who translated these scripters were not deep in Samskrta grammar enough to find out the exact meanings. For example:
A Sutra in rigveda was translated ." Sun holds the planets across it like a chariot driver holds the horses with its lead" .
But the actuall meaning was: " Sun holds the nine planets (navagrahani) in place by its enormous gravity(gurutva).

Japan was mentioned in Ramayana when Lord Rama used his arrow (Agniban i guess) to kill two demons in Japan.
