Similar to the Catholic Church who read the Bible and doesn't get anything, similarly ISKCON knows little of true meaning of Gita.
@amritsharma8514 there many mayavadi and impersonalistic interpretations of the Bhagavad Gita. But The Bhagavad Gita as it is translated by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada is different, teaching about love of God - Krishna - who spoke Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna to explain to him spiritual science of acting without attachment to results and total surrender to higher power which is Krishna.
Devotees of Lord Krishna accept any form of Vishnu to be God - Rāma, Narasimha, Varahadev, Parasurama, Matsya, Kurma.... All are Vishnu tattva, all are the same supreme person in different forms.
Lord Shiva is depicted as the greatest Vaishnava in the Srimad Bhagavatam not as the supreme personality of God. Therefore Vaishnavas do not worship lord Shiva as God but as the greatest devotee of lord Vishnu. Which might be weird for Shaivites who consider lord Shiva to be Supreme Lord. There many stories of sincere Shaivites who worshipped lord Shiva and prayed for knowing the truth, then they met devotees of Krishna and became devotees of Krishna.
Opposing team got bodied, Ritvik is what Srila Prabhupada wanted.... 11 years ago when I met ISKCON I read Srila Prabhupadas books, and got convinced with the philosophy, couldn't find a hole or an unanswered question in all of His books, conversations and letters. I never met any of these 'gurus' anytime they would come to the temple I wouldn't go (I'm in Latin America). So I wanted to take things more serious, start to live with devotees and get initiated but I was told by other initiated devotees that I couldn't accept His Divine Grace because he is not alive, instead I should accept a 'guru' that is alive. So illogical to me because I understood you would surrender your life to your Guru and I felt Srila Prabhupada was my guru because everything is in his books, and his instruction is alive. So I decided to leave and not come back because it didn't make sense to accept a person that didn't benefit my life in any way, or showed me the path... It's so unmotivating, but I'm glad to see this and other people come out with the same thoughts, at that time I really felt like I was crazy.
Srila Prabhupada is our Siksha guru - giving instructions that we can follow. Initiating Diksha guru must be present. We will not find such a thing as ritvik initiations in vedic culture. Everyone including Krishna and Lord Chaitanya accepted living gurus so we should take inspiration from them and surrender to a lotus feet of a pure devotee who is our inspiration in our spiritual life. If a disciple is ready, Krishna will send the spiritual teacher who can guide us back to Krishna.
The Iskcon gurus today act as ritviks whether they admit it or not. They all say chant 16 rounds, follow 4 regulations, read Srila Prabhupada's and follow his instruction. The real reason the living guru system is so adamantly advocated by Iskcon is because it provides power, money and control, not out of altruistic spiritual concerns. Anyone who has read Prabhupada's books and understands the science of self realization will know that mundane physicality is not at all necessary for spiritual development.
Yes, deny living guru and any living authority so no one can correct you and guide you. So you can do whatever you want. Good luck 🙏
Srila Prabhupada after his departure wanted Ritvik initiation to continue & didnt appoint any Guru after him but appointed 11 Ritviks to continue Ritvik initiation.
So people initiated in 1000 years by ritviks will still be Srila Prabhupada disciples. Why not to take initiation from Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati or Bhaktivinod Thakur, or even from Lord Chaitanya?
Humility & devotion is the key for success. That's what Srila Prabhupada & his disciples had. The sankirtan movement of Lord Chaitanya cannot be stopped by muslims, christians, communists,... Not even by Covid19. People can clearly see who is calm & humble. So they can choose who they want to be... Hare Krishna 🙏
