George Harrison had a long relationship with Krishna. He and John Lennon got the first Hare Krishna mantra record produced by the Founder-Acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, in 1968.
From that point on George was a follower of Srila Prabhupada and a devotee of Krishna.

Gaura Das 3 years agoThe only Beatle that could truly appreaite all that SRila Prabhupada has given us, and not wanting any glorification for himself. George had more direct association with SRila Prabhupada than many of Srila Prabhupada's early disciples.

AAKASH BHATIA 3 years agoThe thumbnail photo is of Radha Damodar Mandir, Vrindavan and Samadhi of Jiva Goswami Pad who was one of the six Goswami who were discipiles of Chaitanya mahaprabhu who left ministership in order to study the scriptures to find all the places making sure the revival of Vrindavan. Swami Prabhupada lived in the temple doing seva and translating Bhagavad and other text in English for few years before heading to New York. there lies a rock which was part of govardhan with impression of Krishna feet, cow feet and his flute. Doing parikrama of the temple and rock four times is equivalent to govardhan parikrama. Recently went to this temple was a surreal experience. Hare ram hare krishna- thumb_up — 3

Tyson Games 4 years agoI absolutely hated the Martin Scorsese documentary about George Harrison. It was so uninformative and completely glossed over the importance of Hinduism, or religion for that matter, in George's life. Mrinal Sarkar 4 years agoyou have to wait a moment and think how powerful must have been the message of srila bhaktivedanta prabhupad's devotion that krishna personally empowered him to convince all these western devotees (including influential ones like harrison) to give up their material comforts and accept india's material discomfort for their spiritual advancement..

He was very dear to Srila Prabhupada. by paying for the printing of the first Krishna books, which Srila Prabhupada much appreciated.. Remember, Lord Krishna can award liberation to anyone, anytime and is very pleased when someone serves their pure devotee. 🙏

Radha Madhava 5 years agoThis is so wonderful to see! I have such a deep personal connection with all of this! I had been given a mix-tape of George's more directly Krishna Conscious songs when I was 16. I listened to it all the time! I also used to listen to this Laksmi Shankar recording when I was younger. I got my first job working under Mukunda Goswami in DC making videos about Hare Krishna Today. Then I met Prithu Prabhu at a Rainbow Gathering, and later went to Vrindavan with one of his disciples in 2004, where we stayed at Prabhupada-Vani asrama, which is just on the other side of the wall shown here in the video of the walled dirt path they were walking in. I entered the Krishna Balarama temple through the same doors, and stood in front of the same gift-shop desk. I sat in the same seat in Srila Prabhupada's samadhi. I later became friends with Shyamasundar and Gurudas, Yamuna and the rest. I listen to George all the time now, along with Srila Prabhupada of course. I love how Krishna is so personal and loving and kind and generous and miraculous all at once.- thumb_up — 99

We all have to be eternal gratefull for the wonderful music which was composed by the George Harrison - Great devote of the Lord. He wrotes and recorded so many beautiful evergreens with other members of Beatles: John Lennon, Paul Mc Cartney....which make tremendesly impact for the World's peace during the 60-th. By the mersy of H.H.A.C.Bhahtiwedanta Swami Prabhupada and Guru Parampara-George Harrison recorded in Apple studio in London historic single records with MAHA MANTRA: the Great mantra for liberation in this particular time, reecomend in Vedas scriptures. With this record this transcendental vibration start His journey and spreed to the World. I'm remembaring myself Like a little girl who's listening this sound od Maha Mantra and dancing joyfully in our Home in Zagreb, Croatia. Somehowe the whole family was full od Joy: my dear parents, Brother and sister. Without understand the reasons...And the other record, the most popular Georrge's song: "My sweet Lord". In this song His love for the Good was so stongly and openly expreesed that becomes spiritual authem, on a way. But for the devotiees all around the World, the most secret and gentle melodies is The one which wake up every morning The Lord starts the New day, beautiful melody "Govinda, ADI Purusa..." - Tapasya Tyaga 5 years ago@riteshchatterjee8536 There were many miscreants in ISKCON. Sociopaths, narcissists, pedophiles, drug addicts. It was by Srila Prabhupadas grace that so many were put on the path of Krishna Consciousness, but the transformation was partial.
Murder, criminality, debauchery, violence, and more were all there. Persistent suspicions have always been in the undercurrent of highly placed individuals leaving ISKCON with millions in their pockets.

He was a CHORE stealing from the neighbors while lusting at the women bathing at the Yamuna ghats, occasionally hiding their clothes to lust longer at their wet, partially nude bodies.
