Hollywood's take on the Krishna's.
During the 1970s and 1980s Hare Krishnas were a very integral part of society.
Devotees were daily in public performing Sankirtana, the congregational chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra and distributing Srila Prabhupada's books.
So Hare Krishnas became part of the culture.
Naturally the producers and directors of many Hollywood movies included Hare Krishna devotees in their movies.
In those days the general public were very interested in the Hare Krishna movement, and the devotees were actually preaching to the general public.
The Hollywood movies were hopeful there would be Hare Krishna's chanting Hare Krishna on the streets in the future.
Futuristic Hollywood movies like Blade Runner, Back to the Future and Airplane II all included Hare Krishna devotees chanting and dancing in the future.
Unfortunately the future we are now living in, 2022, is almost totally devoid of devotees.
You can not find devotees chanting Hare Krishna on the streets of the world's great cities.
We need to rectify this great problem.
Sankirtana is the only solution to the problems of the world and only the devotees can perform sankirtan.
We are supposed to be the Sankirtan Movement, we are supposed to be chanting Hare Krishna and distributing Srila Prabhupada's books on the streets of all the cities on the planet every day.
That is our business, that is our responsibility.
That is Lord Caitanya's movement.
We need to take it much more seriously.
